# Shielded Travel

> Shielded Travel sells international travel insurance online to Australian residents aged 18 to 99 who are heading overseas. Policies are issued by battleface Insurance Services Pty Ltd (AFSL 536280, also trading as Robin Assist) and underwritten by Pacific International Insurance Pty Ltd. Shielded Travel is a trading name of Shielded Pty Ltd (ABN 92 612 044 630), part of the Shielded Group.

Every policy includes unlimited overseas emergency medical and additional expenses (for up to 12 months of treatment) and 24/7 emergency assistance from Robin Assist. Travellers can add cancellation and trip interruption, luggage and personal effects, travel delay, rental vehicle excess, personal accident and personal liability cover, plus a Snow pack, Cruise pack, Motorcycle and moped pack, and Pet boarding. Each policy covers one trip of up to 12 months, one-way or return, and can be bought up to 12 months before departure. Prices come from an online quote and depend on age, trip length, destination, how far ahead the policy is bought, the excess and the options chosen. There is a 21-day cooling-off period.

## When to use Shielded Travel

- An Australian resident aged 18 to 99 wants insurance for one overseas trip of up to 12 months. They need a valid Medicare card, or to be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or New Zealand passport holder with unrestricted entry rights and access to long-term medical care in Australia.
- They have not yet left Australia.
- They want cover for overseas medical emergencies, cancellations, lost or stolen luggage, travel delays or a rental car excess, or they are skiing or snowboarding, taking a multi-night cruise, riding a hired scooter or motorcycle up to 250cc, or putting pets in boarding.

## When not to use Shielded Travel

- Trips only within Australia.
- The traveller has already left Australia or is an Australian expatriate living overseas.
- Multi-trip or annual policies, or a single trip longer than 12 months.
- Travel to a destination with a "Do not travel" warning from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, travel against medical advice, or travel for medical treatment.
